Senior Maintenance Technician

1st Shift, Multiple Locations, Full-Time, $32-35/hour (BOE)

Job Summary

The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing equipment troubleshooting and maintenance support for ongoing facility/manufacturing operation and support growth initiatives at the site. Assists in and develops standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and preventative maintenance (PM’s) plans. Responsible for written documentation of activities. Actively supports, participates, and embraces an inclusive team culture including significant interaction with Production employees. Provides training and guidance to other Maintenance employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures operation of CNC machinery such as press brakes, lathes, and mills by completing preventive maintenance requirements as establishes by manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Installation, testing, adjustment, maintenance, repair, calibration and troubleshooting of complex automated process equipment.
  • Inspect, operate, or test CNC and manual machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and initiate repairs as required.
  • Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Performs repairs to hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
  • Maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and physical structure of all production facilities.
  • Measure, cut, and install wiring and conduit.
  • Install and configure electrical equipment.
  • Follow electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints and schematics.
  • Troubleshoot or replace electrical and mechanical components as needed.
  • Provide guidance to other maintenance staff on the performance of their duties.
  • Assist in development and maintenance of facility and equipment preventative maintenance plans.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and advance several tasks in parallel and lead to completion.

Non-Essential Duties

  • Provides communication to production on potential equipment problems that could negatively affect operations.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educations workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with OSHA regulations and company procedures and rules.
  • Complies with all applicable codes and regulations that pertain to the performance of their duties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of 3 phase power systems.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings.
  • Able to follow directions and perform repetitive maintenance tasks.
  • Technical understanding of maintenance concepts and practices.
  • Able to quickly change focus and priority from one issue to the next based on needs of the production floor.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Basic writing and math skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and CMMS software.

Experience and Education:

  • Associates Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 1-2 years in a lead position.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
